Does anybody have a lemon?
Performance in collaboration with Britt Van Groningen for the exhibition How it looks like now of the HKU. The exhibition took place in a theater hall.
June 2016
A mattress with holes for arms, legs and a face of two performers formed a mattress being. In the mind of the spectator human and merged into one being.
The mattress creature appeared at unexpected moments in a corner of the exhibition space. Talking about absurd desires and feelings, the mattress creature asked the attention of the spectators. The voice was pre-recorded and came from a speaker that was hidden behind the mattress. While exhaustive and complacent statements were heard, the deadpan face of the mattress looked at the viewers. In a pushy way, the spectators were made aware of the presence of the mattress creature and its existential boredom.
