Astrid is a multidisciplinary artist, passionate about creating and staging stories. She studied Film (Luca School of Arts Brussels) and Scenography (HKU Utrecht). Since then, she makes playful films and animated films, immersive installations and set designs. She explores themes such as ecology, social fears, the instability of truth, magical and animistic thinking, bricolage and spatial experiences. She creates humorous imaginary worlds, highlights the beauty of imperfection and shows subtle observations of people’s behavior.
Astrid works as a scenographer for theatre groups and creates films and installations as a freelancer. She is also a teacher of visual arts and film at various academies (DKO) and youth film organization JEF.
